There’s always logistics involved in how and where to setup your equipment for your gig. Should the speaker be here, should the amp be there, will it give feedback, will anyone trip over this XLR cable, etc. In the dead of summer, I played the Bloor St. Fionn MacCools patio for the 1^st time, and in my surprise, the patio was in a garden, overtop of a fense floor in which the TTC Subway was underneath. So every 15 minutes, you’d feel a hot breeze then, hear the rattling of the subway. In addition, you got the 9-5’ers leaving work, watching and listening behind you, shouting “play some _____”. It was so random, but a really amazing gig for the fact that it was a 360 degree audience.

Everyshow you get requests from the audience, some are great, some are just down-right bizarre. For instance, I now have a monthly engagement at Bier Markt at Shops at Don Mills. Everytime I’ve play there, someone requests Bruno Mars (I decline, but give them the more pleasing Michael Jackson song, who is technically what Bruno Mars kinda is), someone comes on stage to tell me that they play guitar, some random girl always says ‘whooo’ after an Oasis song, and someone asks if I can rap…the answer is yes. Let the summer play on

Next Shows: Tuesday July 16^th– Turtle Jacks Oakville: 6:30pm – 10:00pm. Thursday July 18th – Fionn MacCool’s Yonge/Davisville 7:30pm – 10:30pm. Wednesday July 24th – Bier Markt Shops at Don Mills 8:30pm – 12:30am.

March to May has felt like a week.With shows at some great establishments –  Fionn Maccools locations, O’Finns Irish Temper, Symposium Cafes and Bier Market,

I feel as if I finally woke up as I’ve taken some time to uh smell da roses..The crowds have been so different- young, old, single, married, divorced or confused, its been great meeting so many people and singing their requests.
