Earth Hour was an event I haven’t played for in a few years, but it was great when St.James Gate asked me to do their earth hour event show. A great global cause where the “world” turns off their lights for 1 hour, to save energy and preserve the Earth to its original core – in the modern world, it’s a candle light affair filled with a “community” sense that we are all in this together. Positioned on a stage, I gave a mini speech to the crowd infront of me, announcing the lights were turning off, and that w were part of something special. As the lights dimmed at 8:30pm I performed a special organic (no transfat) setlist and physically left the stage (during the 2nd song Space Oddity) to serenade the crowd. Walking in
the dark, singing while playing guitar, around waiters/waitresses, it was a ‘surreal’ experience that made me feel I was sleep walking to the fridge to get a glass of milk at 3am on a Wednesday.
